Introduction

What RazorCAD is

RazorCAD is a parametric part modeller for Windows with a classic feature-tree interface. You build a part as a feature history: sketches, extrudes, revolves, cuts, fillets, patterns and so on, each of which can be edited later. Changing a dimension or an equation rebuilds every feature after it.

Solid modelling runs on the OpenCascade B-rep kernel (the engine behind FreeCAD), through the replicad library. Display uses three.js. RazorCAD runs fully offline.

Main capabilities:

  • Constraint-driven 2D sketches with relations, dimensions and equations, plus gear and airfoil generators
  • 3D sketches for frames, pipe and duct routes and sweep paths
  • Solid features: extrude, revolve, sweep, loft, hole, helix, threads, wrap, draft, rib, dome, patterns, mirror, fillet, chamfer, shell
  • Multi-body parts with combine, subtract, split, move/copy, per-body materials and appearances
  • Surface modelling: extruded, revolved, planar, lofted, swept, filled, boundary and ruled surfaces, trim, extend, knit, thicken and more
  • Sheet metal: flanges, hems, miter flanges, sketched bends, jogs, forming tools, tab and slot, lofted bends, transitions, flat patterns and DXF export
  • Fast Structure (weldments): structural members from standard profiles, end caps, gussets, weld beads and a cut list
  • Assemblies with mates (including gear and rack-pinion mates), sub-assemblies, configurations, exploded views, an interference check and a bill of materials
  • 2D drawings of parts and assemblies, with projected, section, detail, auxiliary, broken, exploded and flat pattern views, dimensions, GD&T, cosmetic threads, balloons, bill-of-materials tables and PDF and DXF export
  • Millimetres or inches, chosen for each document
  • STEP, STL, OBJ and 3MF import and export; DXF import into sketches and DXF export of faces and flat patterns
  • An Ask Claude panel that builds features from a plain-language description
